Nicknames...

Mi no chi-chi boy!

(if you're from Colombia or have little ones from CO you will know exactly what this means! Haha! Diego has started K-4 and can count to 100, spell his name, write his name, spell a few 3-letter words and beginning to blend sounds to start reading, and no chi-chi en pantelones no mas!)

(because no matter what we're doing, Andrew almost always gives us a verbal re-play of what we've just heard or seen!)

Princess SmartyPants

(her new phrase is "Guess what?" we read the book princess smartypants. she liked it and after bringing home lots of "A's" from school and Mrs. Young complimenting her behavior in school...well, she earned the title at home...i really, think she likes it!)

Andrew's Adventure!

We were told to be at the hospital at 7 am. We were up before 6 am to prepare and get there on time.

Then, we waited... and waited, and waited. (First Waiting Room) He was able to watch some cartoons while we waited...we were here until around 9.

The second waiting room had only a small television and a few chairs. We didn't stay here long... maybe 20 mins or so and then the nurse, the anesthesiologist, and orthopedist all came in to ask the same questions basically, and then we were taken into the next room...

Here, we waited even longer... it was near 1 p. before Andrew's adventure really began. Once they put him under it went really quick. Around the third-fourth hour of waiting Andrew said spontaneously, "Mami, this adventure stinks!" It caught me off guard, but I had to laugh and tell him that I agreed with him!


We go for a follow up appointment in 10 days. He has his first cast. He will most likely get a replacement when he visits the doctor's office. The doctor believes he will be casted for about 3 weeks. It was a closed fusion, and a "grade 2" fracture on/near the growth plate. The doctor seems confident that it will heal back with no problem.

SpIdERmaN and the PinKiE finger

What? Spiderman! Andrew, Tatiana, and their G-bub were playing "Spiderman" at church, and Andrew broke his finger. Not just any break, mind you...but one that will require surgery tomorrow at 7 am. I have never seen such an excited little boy! It will be outpatient, they say... and quick and easy. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. The hospital was great today. I am so glad to be part of their team!
