Nicknames...

Mi no chi-chi boy!
(if you're from Colombia or have little ones from CO you will know exactly what this means! Haha! Diego has started K-4 and can count to 100, spell his name, write his name, spell a few 3-letter words and beginning to blend sounds to start reading, and no chi-chi en pantelones no mas!)

ReRun
(because no matter what we're doing, Andrew almost always gives us a verbal re-play of what we've just heard or seen!)

Princess SmartyPants
(her new phrase is "Guess what?" we read the book princess smartypants. she liked it and after bringing home lots of "A's" from school and Mrs. Young complimenting her behavior in school...well, she earned the title at home...i really, think she likes it!)

Never EVER heard "mi no chi-chi boy!" Nope, Never. Oh wait, Juan is six, and I still hear it sometimes. :)

Nicknames are fun... and sometimes too funny! I like your kiddos' nicknames.

We've gathered a few for the kids and they've also chosen a few for themselves. Let me see, there's Luis' nickname of Bubba which he chose for himself before he even turned 2 yrs old (not normal, I know; usually the name change desire doesn't kick in unti the pre-pubescent stage). Then there's Karen, who we immediately called "Kenai" from her nosiness and alert tendencies... basically for her "keen eye" ut spelled with an Alaskan flair. Fabian... well, we use to call him Rooster because he would really strut his stuff from time to time, but he didn't care for that so we stopped. This summer I noticed that he was getting some love handles and I jokingly said we might start calling him Pudge, and believe it or not, he liked it even after I explained the nickname would be Pudge Hefty. Isn't that a hoot? Now he prefers to be called Pudge. What have we done? And when do we begin the therapy sessions? Just joking... he's the silly one who chose the name!
Then there's Marissa... she use to go by Missy until 2 years ago.

I wonder what nicknames will be tagged to the other kids that'll join our family. Hmmmm?
