GARAGE SALE UPDATE!!

Donations are coming in and we've began pricing things! Don't have a super lot, but we have several stops tomorrow to make to pick up items including: book shelves, exercise bike, desk, couch, and more! Yay, God! Some friends from the hospital are bringing things there for me to pick up! Waahoo!

The only concern is that it might rain Saturday. We can do it in the fellowship hall. However, it will decrease visibility. More visible, more money! So please pray for good weather. Already have sold some items and are $50 closer to the initial goal of $500. It would be nice if we could knock out a $1k, wouldn't it?

I will call the paper tomorrow and buy an ad.

$300 Blessing!

Yay, God! We received a $300 Blessing last week from a family friends and members of the WC. Thanks, P Family! God is good, and He is faithful til the end!

Does he look a little scary to you?

But I'm sure you would say he looks adorable, right? LOL

The Junior Auxilary had free arts and crafts activities for the kids! It was a great way to spend the morning/afternoon. The kids had a blast. The clown made balloon hats for A and T and a teddy bear for D.

Garage Sale Update

I have a flyer prepared to handout at church asking for more donations. I have filled up my room, almost...with donations and things we have collected. We have some GOOD stuff...like...
  1. a beautiful canvas from target that was $99, I used in my office at work (I have the same one in my living room!);
  2. two television sets!
  3. brand new iron
  4. 5 candle stands
  5. 2 candlelabras
  6. baby stroller
  7. baby walker-toy thingy
  8. blender
  9. coffee maker
  10. clothes
  11. Go Diego Table with 2 chairs
  12. More stuff coming like-- baby clothes and leather ottoman!

A friend from the hospital has also offered me more clothes. Another friend from the hospital has offered me more clothes and possibly some furniture, but she's gonna have to check that out with her hubby, first!

Thanks to all those who donated! We have a goal of $500. I believe we will need a few more things to entice the buyers, so please keep the donations coming! God bless!

One down, Two to go!

Okay! Finally, got everything down from the attic! We add more clothes, a baby walker, a child stroller, one of those Diego 2x2 tables with two chairs, and 4 iron metal candle stands and 3 candlabras!

We also have someone that DID respond to my email or FB post and has offered a bunch of baby clothes AND a LEATHER OTTOMAN with a twin pull-out bed! Yippie-Skippie! Thanks, K!

We are also getting rid of one of our televisions... Tomorrow, I hope to make arrangements to pick up those donations this week! Yay! We are thinking the end of April for a garage sale. Ben is going to check the calendar at church tomorrow. We will have it in the parking lot. Doing it there will get much more traffic than if we did it at our house. Will post when we have a date!

Goal-Setting...

Ok, so we have begun collecting items for our garage sale. We hope to have a date locked in by the end of the week. So far, we've had one friend donate TWO bags of clothes! Sent out an email just a few minutes ago requesting items from family and friends... We have designated a room in the house for collecting our booty and hope to have it filled with treasures by the end of next week! Wouldn't that be fabulous?

The average garage sale profits between $200-300. I want to raise the bar. I want to raise $500!!! Do you think we can? Of course, we can!!! Want to be part of the fun??? Just leave a comment or send us an email and we'll tell you how!

So, as for a short term goal, that would be to get to my attic and pull down and clean some fabulous, "gotta have one" candlelabras along with some other treasures to put in the pile of goodies!

There you have it. Three goals. Clean out the attic. Fill the room with garage sale items. Make a $500 profit from sale to go toward adoption expenses! Yahoo! We can so totally do this!
