AS OF 9/1/10, WE WERE APPROVED BY THE COLOMBIAN GOVERNMENT TO ADOPT A CHILD FROM AGES 5-6 YRS OF AGE!!!!
Yippee Skippy! We've been waiting a LONG time for this approval. Things seem to be slowing down in Colombia. We submitted our dossier quite a while ago. So, we are relieved that we weren't asked for more information to lengthen the wait.
HOWEVER, we were put on the 5-6 year old wait list and our intentions were to be put on the 6 year old list. We wouldn't be opposed to a five year old, BUT they are just processing Feb 2008 on that list! We were hoping to bring our little girl home within the next year! The current wait time given to us by our adoption agency for the 6 year old list is 6-12 months. The kids are so ready and so are we!
Nichole, from CHI, called and said all we needed to do was send a notarized letter to ICBF requesting the change. I will fax it to her on Monday. She will then have it translated and faxed to ICBF! Said it shouldn't be a problem. Isn't technology fabulous?!?

If you don't mind sharing, when did you submit your dossier? We're just starting our adoption and would love to see what your wait has been so far.
YAY!!! We will pray for the 6 yr old list...knowing, of course, that God will provide just the right child for you. So happy for you guys!
