I need ideas! Help me generate some ideas, people!!!
T-shirts? I found a site that once I get the packet filled out and mailed that I will be allowed to put info on my blog and they will sell shirts and we get a certain amount for each shirt.
Once we actually get the completed homestudy, I can apply for grants. Really hoping for the Show Hope one and some others. But, I may not get that money until the adoption is completed or at the time of travel.
- Have thought about a raffle. (Thanks, Tammy R!)
- Have thought of a game night. (We did that for the Fleming family who was adopting from Liberia, and raised about $200.)
- Have thought of a babysitting nite, but the return would not be worth the headache, really ($100-200 for 20-30 kids for 4 hours...).
- Support letters (have any of you done those for second adoptions?)
- Dessert auction (but where would we auction the desserts?)
- Family photo shoot (Coach R. suggested this. But would people really pay ME for a photo shoot?)
- A puzzle fundraiser, but can't find a cool puzzle that I would actually hang up in her room.

I would pay you for a photo shoot. I think that's an awesome idea!!
My parents' church have been selling sheets (yes, sheets), and have raised a lot of money! They had over half the order sold before it ever arrived. It's like the new fundraising "hot item"! You might want to check into that.
Wow, I am so out of touch. That's so awesome that you're adopting again!!! Ok, so here's a site I found from another blogger doing adoption fundraising. It's a coffee co who helps ppl fundraise for adoption, missions, etc. They donate $5 for every bag of coffee bought, toward your fundraiser. They set up a site for you & all you have to do is tell ppl about it!
here's the site: http://www.justlovecoffee.com/
Pray! I think Jesus wants us to go to Him for all of this. I will pray for you too for sure.
What about a gold party? You can host a party where people sell their old gold jewelry. You get a % of the profit. Also you can ask for people to donate pieces that you can then sell to raise money for the adoption.
Hello Wendi,
Several restaurants in our area (Texas Roadhouse, being one) will gladly do a fundraising night for organizations/causes. All of the proceeds on a given evening or through a certain time period are then contributed to the fundraiser. You may be able to find some business owners who would be willing to do this. I would speak with them personally; the flip side is that it gives them some generated exposure as you 'drum up' business for that night as well.
I will try to come up with some other ideas for you guys.
Much Love,
Sheila
Ok, here is another thought...do you have 20-30 friends or family, local and far who would be willing to partner with a Pampered Chef consultant to host a night of fundraising for your adoption. Instead of the evening ending in a nice little product bonus for the host, the consultant would donate a certain percentage of what was sold directly to you for your adoption. Your hosts could also utilize outside catalog sales as a way of increasing their return for the evening. (I did do PC as a way of raising some funds for our own adoption. It resulted in a couple thousand dollars for us.)
