Church at the Finca

On Thursday night, we had church at the Finca (farm). This is Rocky (Pastor Rodriguez) and Lala's main church. This is where they live. It is actually property that they have been allowed to stay on as they have assumed responsibilities of a Children's Foundation. It is more or less like a group home for kids that parents do not give up rights for their children, but may send their children here to be taken care of. Rocky and Lala have only Steven at this time. There are some practical needs that they require before taking any more children in such as linens, and water issues. The Finca is really nice, though! They have a cool swimming pool with a fountain, a big yard for soccer, a house next to the dormitory area for missionaries/pastors.

The majority of the families that come to the church services walk oor ride a bike from their homes, unless they are picked up by one of the leaders. As the service began, people continued to come. Before it was over, there were 52 children and over 30 adults! There were about 7 new people who attended that accepted Christ as their Savior and repented of their sins. There were several people who were prayed for also that reported symptoms of pain either going away or lessening. It was a good night. Ben preached about our fruit and what happens when we get squeezed... What comes out of you? He then preceded to share the message of the Gospel.

Before service, this is a clip of Brooke playing with a few of the kids. We brought about 20-25 beach balls. As a therapist, I've learned lots of games to play with children and they are easy to travel with. Since at each church there were more children than balls, we left them all with Brooke and Milton to use/distribute as they see fit.

This is Lala with all the children! She loves God, and she's got the biggest Mama's heart I've ever seen! She's great!
