Mark 10:13 -16
We used to sing a little chorus when I was a child. The words were something like this:
Jesus loves the little children;
All the children of the world:
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in His sight.
Jesus loves the little children of the world!
And they (grandmas, grandpas, mamas, papas, aunts, uncles, baby sitters, school teachers, friends and neighbors, you name it) were bringing young children to Jesus, just to touch him and be blessed. At times the crowd was pressing. What a happy sight this must have been!
Concerned, the disciples tried to stop it, thinking they were doing Jesus a favor. When Jesus discovered what was happening he was very disappointed and displeased. He rebuked his disciples saying, "Listen up guys! You of all people should know better! Stop scolding them and help them get to me."
Bringing children to Jesus is how the Kingdom of God should be! Having finished speaking, Jesus opened his arms to these children and blessed them!
Prayer: Father, how wonderful it is to be received into your open arms and be blessed. I come anew to you today as a little child. Amen.
