at this point... When he had the EEG done, they said it would be a couple of days before the doctor would have it read, and then they would send the results to our pediatrician.
We have wanted to change pediatricians, but have not until this point looked into switching. There are several concerns that I have with the current doctor including misdiagnoses of friends' children and having to call them several times to find out if approved for refills or suggestions for allergy meds OTC.
Anyways, the deal is we have TWO pediatrician clinics in our town. The other has a really good reputation, BUT they have signed a "Common Courtesy Agreement" with our doctor saying they will NOT accept any patients who have EVER seen her! So, what does that mean...I'm either stuck with seeing her or have to drive 20-25 minutes to find a pediatrician!
I'm almost livid about this...this seems so wrong! The only reason I chose this pediatrician was only to use her initially, because she was bilingual. The children now are totally english speaking! ARgh!
Anyways, the new ped appt is for Monday. It will be at that time when the new doctor will call the hospital and find out the results. I will let everyone know then.
THANK YOU ALL FOR ALL THE ENCOURAGING WORDS AND PRAYERS FOR ANDREW! He is acting totally normal now...my prayer is that he was just REALLY sleepy! and the commotion when awakened frightened him...
Thank you again for all the support!

WHAAT?? That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. A common courtesy agreement?? I did not know docs could do this and I would be furious too! Hope this new ped will work out better for you. Glad Andrew is doing better.
We are praying!! It is so hard to see your little ones helpless in the ER. And as a mom it is so frustrating not being able to do anything...but pray!! Love you guys! Rachel
What an interesting set-up. I've never quite heard of anything such as that. I'd be frustrated too. I'd certainly be skeptical of both local offices with their silly "common courtesy" procedures, and far more willing to drive the extra few miles in search of some no nonsense answers. Wishing you luck with the new pediatrician and sending prayers that everything is okay with Andrew.
Glad you were able to change drs to someone you are more excited about. Pediatricians are such a huge deal, getting the right one for your situation makes such a big difference.
And I am even more happy to hear that Andrew seems to be doing well. That has to be a big relief for you!
