Haha! How do you tell a kid to stop grunting when they don't know what you're talking about? Diego is our grunt'r...He just grunts all the time! Why do we grunt? Does it have anything to do with our breathing? I don't know, but it sure can be annoying at the dinner table. I remember my Papaw telling me not to grunt when I was younger. It was funny telling Diego not to tonight! I'm also big about "No smacking," and Diego thought I was talking about closing his mouth.
So, what do I do? I mimic the grunt, a little louder though. Well, every time after that when Diego grunted, Andrew and Tatiana would mimic him, except more dramatic...and repetitively, they would make the noises... You can just imagine what they sounded like!!! Argh! What have I done? I'm just hoping I don't have to explain this to a teacher next year when Andrew finds a "grunter" in school!!! Yikes! But ya gotta laugh, this was so totally innocent!

That's some funny stuff Wendi. So Diego's a grunter... Cody, who is now 16 years old, use to grunt when he was eating. He'd smack too. It always made for an interesting time during meals and I won't even attempt to tell of the interesting restaurant outings we had with the boy. We attributed most of his issues to the sad fact that his mother drank heavily and rarely would share mealtimes with him. It took us raising awareness to his annoying noises for him to even understand he was even making those noises. Now Fabian, he makes weird noises and barks in the face of his siblings, a behavior we are trying to break him from. Seems there was an older boy in the foster home in Colombia whom Fabian patterns this behavior after.
