I got You, and You got Me!

So, today didn't really turn out how I thought it would...I'm a little bummed, but I guess it's life! I went to work feeling really good after my conversation at the table with Andrew. I worked til noon, and came home got the kids ready to go to lunch. We went to Olive Garden in Mobile. It was around 2:00 when we were finally served. Well, you guessed it! They were such a grouchy bunch by then. They usually eat around 11 am. Tatiana gave me ugly shrugs, and would cling to Ben. Andrew pouted...Diego, surprisingly was great during all of this...but earlier this morning he was really ugly to Beamie, being disrespectful and not obeying!

Ah....so, our plans were to go to lunch, then go to Academy and pick out a toy or something they could play with outside, and then stop by at the Blu Rabbit. Well, our day did not go as planned. Since we didn't get out of the Garden until 3pm, we went to Toys-R-Us down the road...they loved that. But after they were just so disrespectful in the restaurant, I didn't feel they should be rewarded with a toy or game...But, we did buy a few things: teeball bat & tee, a My-Size Car Puzzle, a reading book that really describes a parent's feelings about life with children, and goggles for the swimming pool. I discussed with Ben about using the things we bought as prizes that the children could earn in the next few days for good behavior. I certainly did not want to reinforce their behaviors.

By the time we walked out of Toys-R-Us, it was 4pm. We decided just to by-pass the Blu Rabbit and go home since Ben needed to be at the church by 5:30pm. The kids have been wound up today for some reason....reminding me much of our first days in Florencia'. How appropriate, huh? Tonight, we took some more pictures. The kids tried on their clothes when we first met them. Tatiana's dress was shorter and fit better up top. Andrew's clothes were tighter, but still fit. (They were actually baggy when we first met him.) Diego--could hardly get his shirt on! He has a big pot belly! And his pants were tight and short, too! You can tell he has really grown! The kids have grown not just physically, but emotionally, and spiritually, too! They have been such a blessing in the good and bad times...the high and lows... We really love being parents! Pictures in the next post...

HAPPY GOTCHA DAY!! Sorry the kids were so grumpy. I get the same way when I eat late. haha. Hard to believe it's been a year already. I remember when you were getting close to traveling and it seems like yesterday. I'm not sure what we're going to do for our Gotcha Day but I want to have a big party instead of having a huge one for his b-day. Unfortunately, ours is in August....not the greatest party day (weather-wise) out here in Arizona. LOL! We might be spending it at a water park!
