Just another quick note about tonight. The kids have already picked up on so many of our behaviors it is funny. They really are a mirror of who we are! No, we don't look alike, but they are beginning to walk and talk like us!
Tonight, we were at a Mexican Restaurant. I absolutely LOVE queso! So, do the children. We give them each a portion of chips and dip out some of the cheese dip onto a saucer or they share it with one of their sibs. Ben, always makes fun, and even did it tonight about me "hoggin' " the cheese dip and eating it all up! He even tells me sarcastically, that I should just lick the bowl and get it over with...Which I do scrape the bowl, usually! Right after he said that, I had looked away talking with Andrew, Ben called my name, as soon as I looked toward him, Tatiana abruptly put her cheese bowl down! She had began licking it!!! It was funny! That's MY GIRL!!! God sure is the best match maker ever! I love my kids! I love Mami-hood!
Just another quick note. I have been asking Ben for pearl earrings for the past 2 years. So, for this Mother's day, I dropped the hint again! He laughed...I asked the children each if they felt Mami deserved some pearls for Mother's Day (not sure they totally understand what M-Day is), and Diego immediately said "yes!" and still sticks to it! Tatiana and Andrew initially said yes, but Papi convinced them that a few rocks would befit me much more! Ha! As I pointed to my finger (wedding ring), I told Tatiana that "This is a rock, Tatiana, and it is much more expensive than pearls..." then laughed and peered at Ben...and he just said that he was thinking more about the rocks in the front yard! Hmph! Well, Mother's Day should be interesting...hadn't got those pearls in two years, not sure that this year will be any different, BUT I have the best thing ever this year and it's my three beautiful Colombian children, and I don't have to have anything else!
Well, wishing you all many, many smiles...and Hoorah, to those in Colombia adopting! (Adelmans' I have had probs posting comments, but you have a gorgeous girl! Derrs', Jonatan looks like a lot of fun! Boyacheks, can't wait to see you this summer! Hollis' hoping you can come home this week! Yes! Praying for you all!)

It's cool how our kids reflect us in different ways. Don has always prided himself on loving spicy foods and you can imagine how proud he was when Nate actually liked eating horseradish and hot salsa!
BTW....I also find it hard to find good selections of boy's clothes! I'm discovering that the bigger he gets, it seems like all that's out there are t-shirts and jeans. Hard to find nicer, trendy clothing.
Isn't it great to be celebrating our first Mother's Day together?!! I'm totally excited too and I keep reminding Don about it. haha!
Isn't it amazing how they can pick up some things so easily and other things just seem impossible? Like they are very good at making "noises" that boys like to make, but have a hard time remembering what to do with dirty dishes. :)
Hello Wendi!
It has been a while since I had a chance to catch up on everyone's post again! It sounds like you and your clan are doing very well! Glad to not hear of any more plumbing problems on your end of the world! Ha!
It is so fun to hear how the Lord is blessing you guys through your children! They are such an image of us! Tonight, Dave was trying to share with Jonatan what a gorilla does and how it sounds...sooo, he got on the floor and starting making crazy noises while jumping back and forth from one foot to the other...well...Jonatan climbed up on the bed and proceeded to mimic Dave...and so very well! Oh, this so cracked me up! What a mirror!
As for mosquitoes...none so far, and we are very thankful for that. It has rained off and on here and is pretty moist, yet surprisingly we have had no encounters with them. I will say that we had an encounter with a cockroach last night! Our balcony has a trellace connected to it...and of course a huge plant growing up the side of the building...well, we left the windows and patio open, and low and behold this monstrous thing invaded our room! I was typing on the computer when I saw the shadow of this thing moving across the room...well, when I moved to investigate it, it moved quickly and toward me!!!!!!!! I moved like lightening to get out of its way and ended up on top of Dave on the bed! He was totally cracking up and ended up using one of my shirts to squwish the thing! Yuck! I am not typically a girly girl, but this pretty much wigged me out! Needless to say, the windows are closed tonight!
The other thing that I can say about Pereira is that the weather is perfect! It is never too hot or too cold! It always runs around the 80 mark and the humidity really isn't all that bad. It does have about the same amount of rainfall as Bogota or elsewhere...you just live with it. We only had one night of all rain...other than that it has been a sprinkling here and there.
I hope that helps! I would definitely recommend visiting Pereira! It is an amazing city! We are enjoying every moment of our stay...and, it will be sad to return to Bogota, although I am sure Bogota has much to see as well.
Much Love,
Sheila D.
P.S. Hope you don't mind the long comment! =)
Thanks for your prayers! I am just like you and like to hog the queso dip! :)Yummmm!
