take to time to listen to God

Tonight, our Bible story was about taking time to listen to God (Mary & Martha story). After we read the story, I told the children we were going to practice and see if we could hear what God was saying to us. I told them each to lay down and close their eyes and be very still and listen. Surprisingly, the only one which was compliant was Diego. Tatiana and Andrew were disruptive so Tatiana was sent to her room and Andrew to his bed (we were in the boys' room). Diego lay there with eyes closed and a little squirmy...when I asked if God spoke to him after a few minutes he said in a funny high pitched voice, "Noooo!" I smiled and laughed...then I said we should try it again...this time, he felt God was speaking to him...

"What did God say to you, Diego?"
"Boy!" Diego says.
"Boy? God said Boy? Diego?"
Diego says, "Yes!" emphatically.
"Did he say anything else, Diego?"
"Go, boy, go!" "Go, boy, go!"
"Go, boy, go!?"

Funny! Lovin' it! Father, help me to teach them to be sensitive to your voice and to desire to be pleasing to You by writing Your law upon their hearts...help me to show them Your love daily and the importance of taking time to listen to You. In Jesus' Name!
