Finally read the book and figured out how to do "black and whites!" Still playing with it...Ben didn't feel like going to the beach...so just took some shots in the back yard and the house...I'm sure the children get tired of me shooting them...we don't use our video camera that much and I feel we ARE missing some of that...maybe I should read the book more, because I think there is an option for that too! It is a Canon EOS Rebel XT , if any of you are camera people and can give me some additional tips...thanks!
Well, waiting for the pics to download, Ben suggested I look in the TOC concerning the option for video, unless it is written in foreign language, I don't believe the camera has that video capability. Funny, the cheap camera we have does! That's just ANOTHER book to read...I hate manuels!

Love the pics. The one of Tati's curls is my favorite. For the BWs try bumping up the contrast a little. You aren't getting enough white or black in the photos. Its more middle shades of grey. If you are using the BW setting on the camera, go into the parameteres for BW and scroll down to the contrast. By upping the contrast I think you will get a better image. You can also do this in the post processing. Here is an album layout that I just finished. There are some good examples on layouts 4 & 5. http://www.lauraspeake.com/albums/andrea_karl/
Hi, Laura!!! Just looked at the pics on your layout, Awesome! So, are you a professional photographer? How did you come across our blog?
I was just thinking the same thing about the contrast last night. Should I do the same for the color pics, too? Too much light? I'm trying to understand the aperture and the settings, but that can be easily confused...especially for the simple minded! Ha!
Please if you have a blog or more tips, I'd like to talk. I just noticed that the pics I cut and posted from Walmart photo are not showing up on the blog this morning. I used their editing program...and I did increase the contrast...they were pretty cool pics..not sure if you can see them.
