The children have been fascinated by drums, and love to watch their god parents perform! G-Papi plays drums while G-Mami sings lead vocal for Orphan Soul. They often mimic them when listening to music at the house or in the car. From time to time, the kids are found trying to make a beat on the coffee table or back of a chair...and I stumbled on this fabulous idea on Family Fun on creating your own set of drums using boxes! I started collecting boxes at work, and covered them with wrapping paper and created a cool set of drums for the corner of our living room (even with a cymbal and "shakers"-I'm sure their is a name to these musical instruments).
The kids liked making music. They would sing "hallelujah"--more like- SHOUT- hallelujah as they beat on the boxes! We got some of it on video!
I'm not sure how long the boxes will endure the beating, but makes for great entertainment!
