Today was a good day!

That's not to say that all days aren't good days, but today, it was a REALLY GOOD day! We started our day before the break of dawn. I guess the kids are accustomed to getting up for school on weekdays that Saturdays will be the same from now on...Diego was the first to get up and some how we all ended up in Mami & Papi's cama snuggling and watching cartoons til 8 am. Then we ate breakfast, and the children watched some more Saturday morning cartoons while Mami cleaned. I was able to rearrange furniture, mop floors, start laundry, do dishes, and get the children dressed with no major tantrums!!!

Later, we went to the Blu Rabbit in Alabama to play for about 2 hours. The children were tired, because I allowed them to skip their ciesta- which is a real big thing for me, because I try to be real consistent with their scheduling, but since their Papi is away, I wanted to do something fun with them so they wouldn't be totally bummed. I took some school work with us and in-between running thru the castle, Andrew and Tatiana did some worksheets. Andrew was great! I wish I had video of him helping Diego climb up the castle. He would jump down and push Diego up each level, because Diego was not tall enough to climb over. They played well. I sang one liner songs ALL the way home because I didn't want ANY of them to fall asleep.

They got home and played outside for a little while, they all had sock hats on. I took pics; I thought they were so cute. Then we had supper, and baths. Andrew and Diego got haircuts. Andrew worked on the computer on Starfall. Diego and Tatiana sat on the couch watching and repeating what the computer said. It was great. They all got along so well! Then, we had milk & cookies! I showed them how to dip their cookies in milk. I should have taken a picture of that...maybe next time! Then, it was brush our teeth, get a reading book, and off to bed. The boys were a little loud, and didn't sit thru the whole reading, but we were able to pray and they both went off to bed right away!!! Tatiana and I read and prayed, she went to sleep right away as well.

Sweet...now, I've got dishes and more laundry, but the house is quiet, and Diego hasn't even got out of bed tonight, like usual (He sometimes makes 4 - 5 trips to the bathroom before he drifts to sleep!)...

Wow! An awesome day...what a treat for all of you! Boy do we moms appreciate those "smooth sailing" days. Hey sometimes it's worth altering the routine to have a great memory like this one! BTW...what's the Blu Rabbit? Dunking cookies...man that's the only way to eat an Oreo. haha!

I LOVE those kind of days (or even hours)! Makes me feel like maybe we're doing something right. :)

Praise the Lord! I'm glad you had a good day. Isn't it nice to have those memorable days? I always hope to have memories of those days and not the hard ones! I guess if I can remember anything a few years later I'm doing good! I'll keep you all in my prayers still!

Aaahhh....I love days like this. It is such a blessing to see the picture of adoption in your family. It is so much like our relationship with Jesus, kwim? But it also makes me sad that there are children who do not have this blessing in their lives and motivates me to pray more for them. Love you!
