Prayer for the Orphan

"...You are the defender of the orphan...Lord, You know the hopes of the helpless. Surely You will listen to their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and to the oppressed, so people can no longer terrify them."
-Psalm 10.14, 17-18

These children live in Florencia' Colombia, in the city where our children were born. They are in need of a school. Our interpreter, Carlos, is working at raising funds to rebuild a schoolhouse so that they can go to school. Please pray that God connect him with the right people and the school and all other needs be met as he pursues this project.

This project is only going to cost about $5,000! This is it. You can see there is no real shelter from the rain or weather. With the money they will build walls, and can afford a couple of computers, and more...The children in this area are very poor. When he took us on a cab drive through this area, it was heartbreaking. Many children were running around alone and unsupervised. The poverty was evident as you saw the children beg for food. One precious child even came up to Ben and nudged his arm, hoping that Ben would give him his scraps...We really are spoiled people here in America, even the poor here have a place to go...have access most times to a hot meal--there was no Salvation Army in Florencia'.

Before you sleep tonight, please pray for the children and families in this region. Pray that God draw them to Him, and that he hear the cries of their hearts and raise them up with a heart after Him causing a radical change in their environment. Some of these children will go to sleep on the streets tonight...scared and alone...please pray for them. Thanks!
