Raising the Banner for Adoption!

I am a proud adoptive mom of three beautiful children from Florencia', Colombia. My husband and I had been married at five years when we started the adoption. We have chosen adoption for several reasons!

First and foremost, we believe adoption is part of the heart of God! God told us in the Bible that true and undefiled religion is just that--taking care of the orphans and widows...we want to do that! We actually plan to adopt again in a few years!

We have had a great experience through our adoption. We have had some challenges, too. But we want to raise the banner for adoption and we want to tell our story and encourage others to adopt! So, this blog page is something we have done, to do just that. In addition, we hope that our thoughts are documented for our children who can one day look back and read some of what Mami & Papi were thinking or going thru in a particular period.

Some have labeled this blog as an adoption boasting site--I just want to clarify that what you read in this blog are my thoughts and feelings about my experiences. This blog is about my family, and I am a very proud mom, and I love my children mucho! This blog is part of an expression of my love for my children. I would encourage all adoptive or prospective adoptive families to create a blog spot, as it a great encouragement to others, and family are able to follow along with you as you journey, and the children love to see pictures of them posted! Children feel special when parents praise them!

There are alarming statistics about the number of orphaned children in the world. As adoptive parents, we must sound the alarm and waken the people of God to take action and begin the work of the ministry of the Lord. Whether domestic or international, the church as a whole needs to step up to the plate and reach out to this hurting generation! In the end, we will all be accountable.

Whether it is adopting, sponsoring, fostering, or mentoring, these children need you. Please consider adoption today! Research it, find an adoptive parent to talk to. Parenting has it's ups and downs, and you will have challenges as you may with your birth children; but making the difference by providing structure, stability and love in the life of a child makes all the hard times worth it. You too, can become a voice for the orphans...be involved...get involved today!

Thanks for listening and thanks for following my blog...the journey continues...
