Today, we had some challenges getting to school on time...so we are going to bed early!!! Andrew got to school ten minutes late, and got a tardy slip. Hopefully, tomorrow being Friday, we can get there early!
He got a green smiley for classroom work today as well as the rest of the week. He is having some behavior challenges, though...those smileys differ in color from day to day. At first, he would not stay in line, now he is in line, but not sitting down. We plan to schedule a time to meet with the teacher to see if the ESL teacher is meeting with him bi-weekly as they mentioned earlier.
Last night and today, he was telling his Papi, "Come on!" Ben and I looked at each other and said, "Come on!" with a great big smile. We use a little spanish in our home; words here and there. We have gotten varying opinions about using none to keeping the children fluent in it. Tatiana and Andrew are picking up alot of English, and Diego mumbles, but speaks Spanish to Andrew and Tatiana more frequently. Diego won't say his name? We don't understand why.
We initially thought we would change Tatiana's first name, Darly. Instead of Darly Tatiana, we would call her Tatiana Elise, however, she seems to like that name, Darly, even though, we go by her middle name, Tatiana. So, I believe when things are final in court (our readoption may be at the beginning of the year), we will keep the first name Darly, may variate the spelling, and Tatiana as the second name, but call her Tatiana, still.
Andrew will be Andrew Steven Wood. He loves to say his name. And Diego is Benjamin Diego Wood which will stay the same.
I have told Ben that I want to do this again. I told him about some people I have met through adoption websites who have started fundraising before they began their adoption process. I want to start fundraising and put money in an account for our next adoption. I have no reservations about staying with CHI, Children's Hope International. They are a fabulous agency who was there every step of the way with us. So, when we do adopt again, I am sure we will go through one of their programs. I am not sure if we will adopt from Colombia the next time; maybe Ethiopia...God has really burdened my heart for the people of that nation and the strongholds that have their grip on it. I also meet with other adoptive and prospective adoptive parents of Colombia and continue to have a strong burden for that country as well. I know we will go back to Colombia. It was a very beautiful country. We may adopt again there as well...
I just wished I would not have to work and I could play "Mami" all day long...and watch them grow...so, I am praying for the supernatural, and hopefully, at some point, God will provide a way for that to happen!
Well, the children are in bed early, so I should take advantage of that and clean the house...got more dishes, more laundry, etc.
Have a good nite, and continue to pray for my friend, Jennifer, and a girl named Nataly from Colombia. Also, have another awesome couple from New York who have waited a long time for their baby boy...and they are still waiting. Please pray that God opens the doors of the Colombian government and the babies available be placed in the right homes immediately. We know God is the ultimate matchmaker and His timing is best. We pray that he prepares the child(ren) and the families as they wait for their new arrivals! Thank you for praying with us!
God bless!
